Why Was Jesus’ Death Important?

The Bible tells the story of Jesus from four perspectives (the four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John). All four accounts give considerable details about the death of Jesus. The apostles Peter, Paul and others continued to preach about the death of Jesus. Although some might think that his manner of death was an embarrassment, it became instead one of the most emphasized parts of the message of the early church. Even today, Christianity is symbolized by a cross, an instrument of torture that the Romans used to kill Jesus.
